Parramatta Park Playground
An all abilities playground located in World Heritage listed Parramatta Park, designed by Phillips Marler. My brief was to research and supply small discoverable items relating to convict and early colonial heritage. The scope includes a series of water colours of fauna on glass painted by Aylmer Bourke Lambert in 1794, and convict love tokens, that are facsimiles of small pennies engraved with messages and drawings, given by the transported convict to loved ones. Hardwood balance beams feature convict implements of labour including sewing items and road building tools. Corten pathway inserts identify crimes and punishments. The project was completed 2019 for Client Western Sydney Parklands Trusts.
